DREAMKILLER ROCKS IT HARD
There are bands that rock, and there are bands that ROCK! Dreamkiller, falls into the later category without a doubt. Having connected with lead guitarist, Brad Ward, I was instantly taken into their world the moment my ears were treated to, "Love Vs Dreams." You close your eyes, and let the music begin to play... the sound is smooth, the bass hypnotic, and then, comes the crescendo that is Christy Johnson's voice and you're falling! Falling into an abyss of delicious vocals, mixed with some of the hottest guitar licks ever composed. The sound is solid, and as you let the song take you away, you know, this is a band that has their sh#$ together! I was instantly a fan and had to know more!
The band was founded in 2004 by triple threat, Christy Johnson, [2010 Los Angeles Music Awards NATIONAL FEMALE VOCAL PERFORMER OF THE YEAR; 2013 International Music & Entertainment Awards ROCK FEMALE VOCALIST OF THE YEAR] who has been featured in such films as "Tobe Hooper's Mortuary", "National Lampoon's Pucked", and is starring as Judy Hartley in the upcoming re-imagining, "Night of The Living Dead: Genesis". Involved in arts her entire life, Christy holds a MA and BA in Acting. Brad Ward, the lead guitarist for Dreamkiller, has been honing his skills for 20+ years, most recently earning a Pro Rock Guitar Certificate from Berklee Online in 2012. Billy Shultz, rhythm guitarist/backing vocals for Dreamkiller, has been a dedicated musician for over 10 years on guitar, bass, drums, and keys, as well as audio engineering. His influences range from classic rock, country, heavy metal and alternative rock, bringing unparalleled energy and diversity to all past, present and future projects. Chaise Elliott is a veteran of the Memphis, TN hard rock and metal music scene. With over 14 years of experience on guitar and bass, he is a multi-talented asset to the rhythm section of Dreamkiller. Gary Dacus, Jr. is an ex-soldier and experienced drummer stemming from both the Memphis, TN and upstate NY music scenes. Playing drums for over 25 years, he is heavily endorsed with Taye Drums, Dream Cymbals, Axis Pedals, Los Cabos Drumsticks, Kickport and Rock-N-Roll Gangstar Wear.
One of the other amazing things I've learned about, Dreamkiller, is their music has been featured in no less than 12 feature films so far. Their single "Absolution" is currently being utilized in "Monster Jam" experiences globally and their track "Lyrik's Battle" was named as #7 of the Top 10 Most Requested Tracks of 2012 on the nationally syndicated FM/internet broadcast Rock Solid Pressure Show.
One of the things I love, is not only getting the opportunity to play their music on Radio Rock, but getting to follow and watch them take over the world one city at a time!
